19. 내가 예수교회를 회복하겠노라! I Will Restore the Church of Jesus!

예수교회 회복, 하나님의 뜻 안에서 반드시 이뤄진다. The Restoration of the Church of Jesus Will Surely Be Fulfilled Within the Will of God.

하나님이 모든 시대마다 세상의 소금과 빛으로 두신 것이 교회이다. 그런데 오늘의 한국교회는 세상을 변화시키도록 부름을 받은 것과는 반대로, 세상의 거짓되고 세속적인 영향력이 들어와서 교회를 무너뜨리고 교인들은 점점 생명력을 잃어가고 있다. 한국전쟁 이후 70년 역사를 놓고 볼 때, 한국 교회는 지금 가장 큰 위기 상황이라고 하지 않을 수 없다. 만약에 이걸 반전시키는 어떤 특별한 은혜가 임하지 않으면 우리에게는 희망이 없다. 모든 희망은 주님에게 달려있다. 유일한 답은 하나님이시고, 하나님 아니면 불가능하다. 하나님이 뜻을 돌이켜 재앙을 거두어서 축복으로 바꾸시면 된다. 오직 이 땅을 고치실 분은 전능하신 하나님밖에 없다.

The church is what God has established in every generation to be the salt and light of the world. Yet today, the Korean church, instead of fulfilling its calling to transform the world, is being overtaken by false and worldly influences. These have weakened the church, and its members are gradually losing their vitality. Looking back on the 70 years since the Korean War, we must admit that the Korean church is now facing its greatest crisis. Unless a special grace intervenes to reverse this situation, there is no hope for us. All hope rests in the Lord. God alone is the answer-without Him, it is impossible. If He turns from judgment and replaces it with blessing, then restoration will come. The only one who can heal this land is the Almighty God.

 

(역대하 7:14) 내 이름으로 일컫는 내 백성이 그들의 악한 길에서 떠나 스스로 낮추고 기도하여 내 얼굴을 찾으면 내가 하늘에서 듣고 그들의 죄를 사하고 그들의 땅을 고칠지라
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV)

 

주님이 우리에게 가장 먼저 요구하시는 것은 상황을 바꾸기 위해 무엇이든 해보라는 것이 아니다. 주님의 이름으로 일컫는 교회인 우리가 먼저, 그 악한 길에서 떠나 악행을 버리고 돌이켜 마음을 겸비하여 하나님의 얼굴을 구하는 것이다. 그러면 하늘에서 하나님이 들으시고 우리를 고치실 것이다.
주님이 에스겔 37장에 말라버린 뼈들이 즐비한 해골 골짜기를 보여주신다. “인자야 이 뼈들이 능히 살겠느냐?” 그 뼈들은 아무런 희망이 없는 이스라엘의 영적 상태를 보여주신 것이다. 죽은 지 오래되어 말라버린 뼈들이 살겠냐고 묻는 건 말이 안 된다. 그렇다면 가능성이 하나도 없는 이 질문을 왜 하시는가? 우리에게 기대하시는 대답은 무엇일까? ‘우리는 불가능하다, 안된다.’ 이것이 우리의 결론이다. 그러나, ‘주님은 아십니다. 주님이 하고자 하시면 반드시 하실 수 있습니다. 주님만이 하실 수 있습니다!’라는 대답을 요구하고 계신 것이다. 이것이 하나님을 믿는 우리의 절대 믿음이다. 지금 우리에게 이것 외에 다른 길은 없다. 
하나님의 뜻은 분명하다. “내가 예수교회를 회복하겠노라! 네가 이것을 믿느냐?” 
우리는 하나님만이 하신다는 절대 믿음으로 다음과 같이 외칠 수 있다. “예, 주님이 하십니다. 아무리 상황이 어렵고 불가능해 보여도 무에서 유를 창조하시고 죽은 자를 다시 살리시는 하나님이시기에 충분합니다. 우리의 죄악과 불순종을 뛰어넘어 주님은 하십니다! 하나님이 끝났다고 하지 않으셨으면 끝난 것이 아닙니다.”
믿음의 조상이라는 아브라함이 하나님의 부름을 받았을 때, 그가 받은 약속은 엄청났다. 약속은 있지만 오랫동안 아무것도 보이지 않고, 나이는 들어가며 가능성이 점점 사라지자, 아브라함은 엘리에셀을 양자 삼으려고 마음에 결정하였다(창 15장). 그 밤에 주님이 아브라함을 찾아오셨다. “내가 너에게 한 약속, 내가 하겠다는 그 약속, 거기에 다른 계획 세우지 말고 다른 생각 하지 마! 네가 가능해서 약속한 게 아니다. 너의 가능성 때문에 하는 게 아니다. 하나님, 내가 하겠다!” 그때 아브라함은 비로소 하나님만을 근거한 절대 믿음이 무엇인지 알아들었다.

What the Lord requires of us first is not to try anything to change the situation. As the church called by His name, we must first turn from our wicked ways, abandon evil deeds, humble ourselves, and seek the face of God. Then He will hear us from heaven and heal us.

The Lord shows us the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37. “Son of man, can these bones live?” The bones represent the utterly hopeless spiritual condition of Israel. It makes no sense to ask whether long-dead, dried-up bones can live again. So why does He ask such an impossible question? What answer is He expecting from us? Our conclusion is: “It is impossible. It cannot be done.” But the Lord is seeking this response from us: “Lord, You know. If You are willing, You can surely do it. Only You can do it!” That is our absolute faith in God. At this moment, there is no other way.

God’s will is clear: “I will restore the Church of Jesus! Do you believe this?”  
With unwavering faith that only God can do it, we can cry out: “Yes, Lord, You will do it. Even if the situation seems impossible, You are the God who creates something out of nothing and raises the dead. You are enough. You will act beyond our sin and disobedience! If You have not declared it finished, then it is not over.”

When Abraham, the father of faith, was called by God, the promise he received was enormous. But as time passed and he saw nothing, and as he aged and the possibility seemed to fade, he decided in his heart to make Eliezer his heir (Genesis 15). That night, the Lord visited Abraham: “The promise I gave you, the one I said I will fulfill—don’t make other plans, don’t think otherwise! I did not make that promise because you were capable. It’s not based on your potential. I, God, will do it!” It was then that Abraham came to understand what absolute faith based solely on God truly meant.

 

‘지금 이 정도면 예수교회 회복될 수 있을까?’라는 질문 앞에서 우리는 자주 현실과 상황을 살펴보게 된다. 내 믿음의 상태를 돌아보고, 우리의 면면을 살펴본다. 나의 가능성을 최대치로 올려 좀 더 긍정적, 적극적 사고방식을 가지려고 한다. 열정을 가지고 준비된 사람이 되려고 애를 쓴다. 게다가 실력 있는 사람들을 끌어들여서 좋은 결과를 얻을 것이라 기대하며 계속 시선을 우리의 가능성에 두고 있다.
When faced with the question, “Can the Church of Jesus really be restored in a time like this?”, we often examine our present reality and circumstances. We assess our own level of faith and scrutinize the people around us. We try to maximize our potential, adopt a more positive and proactive mindset, and strive to become passionate and well-prepared. We place our hopes on gathering capable individuals to expect good results, keeping our eyes fixed on our human possibilities.

 

그러나 절대 믿음이란 무엇인가? 아브라함과 사라는 가능성이 0%이었다. 그들에게 가능성이 전혀 없었다는 말이다. 믿음은 우리의 열정, 무슨 대단한 의지, 굉장한 실력이 아니다. “내가 하겠다!” 하신 하나님의 말씀을 믿는 것이다.
But what is absolute faith? For Abraham and Sarah, the chance of fulfillment was 0%. There was absolutely no possibility. Faith is not our passion, nor our great willpower or exceptional ability. It is believing the Word of God when He says, “I will do it!”

 

예수교회는 실패할 수가 없다. 음부의 권세가 결코 이길 수 없다. 반드시 교회가 최후 승리를 얻을 때 모든 역사는 완성될 것이다. 이것이 영원히 변하지 않는 하나님의 뜻이다. 이 놀라운 하나님의 역사를 사람의 가능성에 두신 게 아니라, “내가 하겠다!”라고 말씀하시는 것이다. 바로 이 뜻에서 하나님이 하시면, 예수교회는 회복될 수 있다. 예수교회 회복은 하나님의 뜻 안에서 반드시 이루어진다!
The Church of Jesus cannot fail. The gates of Hades will never overcome it. History will surely be fulfilled when the Church gains final victory. This is the unchanging will of God. This astonishing work of God does not depend on human ability—He declares, “I will do it!” From this very will, if God does it, then the Church of Jesus can be restored. The restoration of the Church of Jesus will surely be fulfilled within the will of God!

The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.
He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.
He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!
This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.
I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

Now let us pray, allowing the Word to become our conclusion.

 

 

현대의 많은 교회는 하나님의 이름으로 행해지는 각종 사역과 종교활동으로 바쁘게 움직여 가고 있다. 하나님의 이름으로 많은 것을 하고 있지만, 우리의 마음과 삶의 중심에서 복음에 합당하게 살아가고 있는지 돌아보자. 나의 모든 중심에서 하나님을 밀어내고, 내가 주인 되어 살아가는 모습을 회개하자. 마른 뼈와 같이 죽은 우리의 심령 성전을 회복시켜 주시기를 구하며 기도하자.
Many churches today are busy with various ministries and religious activities carried out in God's name. Yet we must reflect on whether we are living in a manner worthy of the gospel at the center of our hearts and lives. Let us repent for pushing God out of our innermost being and living as our own master. Let us pray for the restoration of our spiritual temple, which has become like dry bones.

너희는 너희가 하나님의 성전인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 계시는 것을 알지 못하느냐 (고전 3:16)
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? (1 Corinthians 3:16, NIV)

예수교회 회복은 반드시 이루어진다. 왜냐하면 그것이 교회를 향한 하나님의 뜻이기 때문이다. 지금 우리 교회는 에스겔의 때처럼 마른 뼈들 앞에 서 있다. 하나님이 우리에게 ‘이 뼈들이 능히 살겠는가?’라고 물으신다. 우리는 이 땅의 교회가 회복될 것을 믿는가? 그것은 우리의 의지와 가능성 때문이 아닌 하나님과 그분의 말씀만을 믿는 절대 믿음에서 시작된다. 아브라함, 에스겔과 같이 ‘주님이 아십니다. 하나님만이 하실 수 있습니다!’라는 믿음을 고백하며 기도하자.
The restoration of the Church of Jesus will surely come to pass, because it is God's will for His Church. Today, our churches stand before dry bones just as in the days of Ezekiel. God asks us, "Can these bones live?" Do we believe that the Church in this land will be restored? It begins not with our will or potential but with absolute faith in God and His Word. Like Abraham and Ezekiel, let us pray by confessing, “Lord, you know. Only you can do it.”

2. 하나님 말씀에 매인 참 자유인, 예수교회
The True Free People Bound to God’s Word — The Church of Jesus

창세기 1장에서 태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하셨다. ‘빛이 있으라’ 하시니 빛이 있었고, 하나님께서 말씀하시니 세계와 모든 만물이 그대로 창조되었다. 하늘과 땅, 바다를 말씀으로 가르셨고, 그 안에 생물들로 가득 채우셨다. 아무리 사람들이 과학으로 만물을 연구하고 다양한 지식을 늘어놓는다 해도, “하나님이 창조하셨다”는 분명한 대전제가 반드시 있다.
In Genesis 1, God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. When God spoke, the world and all creation came into being. He divided the sky, the land, and the sea with His Word and filled them with living creatures. No matter how much people study creation through science or pile up knowledge, the undeniable premise must remain: “God created it.”

창조했을 뿐만 아니라 하나님의 지혜로 세워 놓으신 자연 세계와 영적 세계의 법칙들이 절대 권위가 있는 하나님의 말씀을 따라 계속 존재하고 있다. 하나님이 처음 창조하시던 날에 세우신 법도와 원칙, 질서와 조화는 누구도 흔들 수 없이 계속 유지되고 있기에, 하나님 말씀의 권위와 능력을 나타내고 있다. 이 정도로 하나님의 말씀은 계속 살아있고 운동력이 있는 권능의 말씀이다.
Not only did God create, but the laws of nature and the spiritual realm that He established by His wisdom continue to exist in alignment with the absolute authority of His Word. The statutes, principles, order, and harmony set from the beginning of creation have never been shaken, displaying the power and authority of God’s Word. God’s Word is thus living and active, full of divine power.

이 놀라운 하나님 말씀으로 율법을 주셨다. 완전한 율법이 우리의 죽은 영혼을 소생시키며, 어떤 우둔한 자라도 지혜롭게 하신다. 하나님의 위대한 말씀은 무지했던 우리에게 분명한 진리를 가르치신다. 그래서 천하의 어떤 지식보다 살아계신 하나님의 말씀을 아는 지식이 가장 높은 것이다.
Through this amazing Word, God gave the Law. The perfect Law revives our dead souls and makes even the simple wise. God’s great Word teaches clear truth to those who were once ignorant. Therefore, the knowledge of the living Word of God surpasses any knowledge under heaven.

‘진정한 교회의 부흥이 가능할까? 이 땅에 하나님 나라가 임할 수 있을까?’라는 우리의 생각과 걱정 다 내려놓자. 주님의 말씀이 속히 달리시고 때가 차면 말씀은 결코 어떤 것에도 매이지 아니하고, 어떤 방해도 뚫어 내시며 반드시 이루어진다. 창조를 이루신 하나님의 말씀은 절대 매이지 않는다. 우리가 별것 아닌 것처럼 취급하는 성경은 하나님의 능력과 권위가 있는 살아계신 하나님의 말씀이다.
Let us lay down our thoughts and worries like “Is true revival of the church possible?” or “Can God’s kingdom come upon this land?” When the Word of the Lord runs swiftly and the appointed time comes, the Word is never bound. It overcomes every obstacle and is always fulfilled. The Word of God that brought forth creation is never bound. The Bible we often treat as ordinary is in fact the living Word of God, full of divine authority and power.

그리고 하나님 말씀은 성취의 말씀이다. ‘내가 하겠다’고 말씀하시는 하나님의 의지이다. 그 말씀은 반드시 일을 지어 성취하시는 말씀이다. 시작은 했는데, 어려운 현실 때문에 너무 버거워서 결국 허물어지고 마는 그런 허술한 말씀은 없다. 하나님이 한번 약속하시면 천하 모든 사람이 다 반대를 하며 막아서도, 말씀의 일 점, 일 획도 흔들리지 않고 반드시 성취된다.
God’s Word is also a fulfilling Word. It is God’s declared will: “I will do it.” His Word does not begin only to collapse under pressure—it is never that fragile. If God makes a promise, then even if the entire world stands in opposition, not a single stroke of His Word will fail. It will be fulfilled without fail.

(이사야 55:11) 내 입에서 나가는 말도 이와 같이 헛되이 내게로 되돌아오지 아니하고 나의 기뻐하는 뜻을 이루며 내가 보낸 일에 형통함이니라
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11, NIV)

(디모데후서 2:9) 복음으로 말미암아 내가 죄인과 같이 매이는 데까지 고난을 받았으나 하나님의 말씀은 매이지 아니하니라
For which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. (2 Timothy 2:9, NIV)

우리의 범죄함과 회복이 불가능한 죄악으로 심판 받을 세상 속에서도 하나님의 말씀은 매이지 않는다. 다윗의 후손으로 오시고 하나님의 아들이며, 하나님의 언약을 성취하셔서 우리의 저주와 심판을 끝내시고, 사탄의 머리를 밟아 깨뜨리신 예수 그리스도의 복음의 말씀이기 때문이다.
Even in a world judged for sins and corruption seemingly beyond repair, God’s Word is not chained. This is because it is the gospel Word of Jesus Christ—the descendant of David, the Son of God—who fulfilled God’s covenant, ended our curse and judgment, and crushed the head of Satan.

온 세상이 가장 두려워하고 거절하며 싫어하는 것이 무엇인가? 하나님의 영원히 매이지 않는 말씀이다. 이 매이지 않는 하나님의 말씀이 교회로 드러나게 된 것은, 교회가 바로 십자가의 비밀인 예수 그리스도와 이 복음을 가진 자들이기 때문이다.
What is it that the world fears, rejects, and hates the most? It is the eternally unbound Word of God. This unbound Word becomes visible in the church, because the church is made up of those who hold the mystery of the cross—Jesus Christ—and His gospel.

이 복음이 전해지는 곳마다 사람이 변하고, 사람이 변하면 나라가 변하고, 나라가 변하면 역사가 바뀌는 것이다. 우리가 얼마나 잘나고 능력 있는가? 하고는 아무런 상관이 없다. 세상은 우리가 아무리 초라한 자라도 두려워 떤다. 사탄은 복음을 가진 교회를 가장 두려워하고 경계한다.
Wherever this gospel is preached, people are transformed. When people are transformed, nations are changed, and when nations change, history is rewritten. It has nothing to do with how gifted or powerful we are. The world trembles even before the weakest believers. Satan fears and watches the church that holds the gospel more than anything else.

복음의 말씀에 매인 사람은 참 자유인이 되어 세상도, 죄악도, 병든 자아에도 절대 매이지 않는다. 예수의 사람, 예수의 교회는 영원히 매이지 않는 하나님의 말씀에 붙잡힌 자들이며, 오직 배우고 확신한 성경이 전부가 된 사람들이다. 그 사람들을 일컬어 예수교회라 하고, 예수 성도라 하는 것이다.
The one who is bound to the Word of the gospel becomes truly free—never bound by the world, by sin, or by a broken self. The people of Jesus, the Church of Jesus, are those bound to the eternally unbound Word of God. They are people for whom the Bible they have learned and become convinced of is everything. These people are called the Jesus Church, and they are called Jesus’ saints.

결코 매이지 않는 하나님의 말씀과 그 말씀에 매인 참 자유인, 그가 바로 은혜의 복음을 가진 진정한 자유인이다. 이 은혜의 말씀을 지켜내는 사명을 수행하는 일에 죽음도 결코 막을 수가 없다. 주님이 “내가 진실로 속히 오리라” 하신 약속에, 진리가 결론이 된 예수교회는 이렇게 응답한다.
아멘, 주 예수여 어서 오시옵소서!
The truly free person is the one bound to the eternally unbound Word of God—this one possesses the gospel of grace. Not even death can stop the mission of preserving this Word of grace. To the Lord’s promise, “Yes, I am coming soon,” the Jesus Church, where truth is the conclusion, responds:
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

B. 이제 말씀이 결론이 되도록 기도하겠습니다.
Now let us pray, allowing the Word to become our conclusion.

 

바울은 자신이 복음 때문에 "죄인처럼 매였다" 하지만, "하나님의 말씀은 결코 매이지 않는다"고 선언한다. 이는 바울이 감옥에 갇혀 있는 상황에서도 복음을 통해 진정한 자유를 누리고 있음을 보여준다. 복음은 진정한 생명과 능력의 원천이다. 수많은 실패와 고난 중에도 하나님의 말씀에 전부로 매여 복음으로 참 자유와 승리의 영광을 누리는 예수교회들이 더욱 일어나도록 기도하자.
Paul declared that although he was “chained like a criminal” for the gospel, “God’s word is not chained.” Even in prison, he was enjoying true freedom through the gospel. The gospel is the true source of life and power. Let us pray that more Jesus Churches will rise up—churches fully bound to God’s Word—enjoying true freedom and the glory of victory through the gospel in the midst of failures and suffering.

현대 사회는 도덕적 타락, 영적 혼란 가운데 가정과 사회가 무너지고 있다. 이때 교회는 진리를 선포하는 등대 역할을 해야 한다. 이 어둠과 세상 악을 이기는 것은 오직 빛과 생명 되신 예수 그리스도의 복음 외에는 없다. 교회는 성경에서 멀어질수록 정체성을 잃고 타락할 수밖에 없다. 우리의 참된 위기는 보이는 현실의 위기가 아닌 말씀을 떠난 교회에 있다. 복음의 말씀을 잃어버린 교회 안에 전심으로 하나님의 말씀을 찾고 구하는 은혜와 말씀의 목마름을 주시도록 기도하자.
In today's world, moral corruption and spiritual confusion are destroying families and society. The church must serve as a lighthouse proclaiming truth. There is no power that can overcome this darkness and evil except the gospel of Jesus Christ, who is light and life. The farther the church moves from Scripture, the more it loses its identity and falls into corruption. The real crisis is not what we see—it is the church that has abandoned the Word. Let us pray that God will give the church a deep thirst and desperate longing to seek and recover His Word in the gospel once again.
